Director of Human Resources
Margie Bennecke currently serves as the Director of Human Resources at Northwestern College and is a vital member of the Executive Leadership Team. She started her career at NC in 1995, and for the past 15 years, Margie has worked in an HR capacity. She has a unique perspective of how the College works, for she has either worked in or had a connection with every department at NC including being a member of the faculty and teaching classes.
Margie has been the winner of many institutional awards and recognitions including The Presidents Circle, Outstanding Administrator, and Outstanding Teamwork (Human Resources).
In addition to building her impressive resume, she has assisted many current and past NCer’s in building their careers.
As a Gryffindor “Where dwell the brave at heart. Their daring, nerve, and chivalry set Gryffindor’s apart.” She fosters an environment of positivity in the workplace to improve retention and to strengthen team morale. Margie and her team have been responsible for bringing countless continuing education programs and training opportunities to the NC community. She has a passion for making sure that everyone at NC reaches their full potential.
Even if she didn’t handle payroll, Margie would still be on the top of everyone on NC’s list to hang out with. She has a St. Bernard dog, Willy Shakespeare, who weighs 175lbs and who thinks he’s a lap dog.
In addition to her many professional accomplishments, Margie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University, Chicago in English and a Masters of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership from DePaul University. Margie is an active member of CUPA (College and University Professional Association for Human Resources).
