The Northwestern College (NC) Bachelor of Science in Business Administration is a four-year program designed to prepare students for a variety of careers in local and global environments. In addition to completing core courses in business, students choose a specialization in either human resource management or logistics/supply chain management.

Human resource management has become more complex and more important than ever to the success of organizations. Some companies even refer to human resource activities as “human capital management” (HCM) to reflect the leadership and strategic role of HR. If you consider yourself a people person and are looking for a dynamic career field, human resource management is right for you.

The logistics/supply chain management specialization offers a selection of exciting career paths within a broad selection of industries and enterprises. As a logistics/supply chain manager, you may work for varied companies that include air cargo, parcel delivery, warehousing, distribution, transportation, manufacturing, and large-scale retailers.

Upon completion of the program, it is expected that students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the common professional components of the business environment
  • Demonstrate computer literacy and familiarity with information resources
  • Develop an understanding of taxation and its impact on financial and managerial decisions
  • Differentiate between financial and managerial accounting
  • Apply critical thinking to analyze and assess ethical issues within the accounting profession

A bachelor’s in accounting prepares you to work in almost every industry including large corporations. Accounting students are prepared to become public accountants, management accountants, internal auditors, and external auditors.
