Margie Bennecke

Board Member

Margie Bennecke has been a part of higher education for almost 25 years.
For the past two and half years, she has been serving as a Board of Director of Northwestern College(NC.) Prior to this role, Margie served as the Director of Human Resources at Northwestern College. She was a member of the Executive Leadership Team which worked collaboratively with other key members within the organization on the strategic initiatives of the College. Prior to her HR role, Margie had the unique perspective of how colleges work for she had either worked in or had connections with nearly every department at Northwestern College. She began her career in higher education in the admissions department and subsequently moved into the Academics division as a faculty member where she taught in the General Education department. One of her roles throughout her years has been to lead a partnership between Northwestern College and the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) – in that role, Margie created Request for Proposals for a dual credit program called College EXEL – which allowed CPS high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to take college-level courses at NC while simultaneously earning high school credit.

Prior to working in higher education, Margie worked in the finance, insurance, and hospitality industries. Currently, she is a member of the Art Institute of Chicago’s team of training docents.


Margie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University in Chicago in English and a Masters of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership from DePaul University.
