Northwestern College Leaders Speak with President of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital at Multi-Chamber Event
Key leaders of Northwestern College this month participated in a Multi-Chamber Business After Hours event hosted by Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and Advocate Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge. While there, Northwestern College’s President, Lawrence Schumacher and Chief Operations Officer Dimitrios Kriaras sought out the Advocate Lutheran General Hospital’s President, Richard B. Floyd. Briefly, they were able to converse about the current state of the healthcare industry in light of the myriad of changes it has undergone these past few years.
Allied health faculty from Northwestern College who were present at the event were also able to get a few minutes of President Floyd’s time. Radiologic Technology Instructor and Clinical Coordinator Raj Patel (Oak Lawn Campus) not only thanked him for the partnership the hospital had with Northwestern College, but noted that he himself was a product of the hospital’s clinicals. Consequently, he understood better than most how great it was to have such helpful hospital staff teaching their Radiologic Technology students.
As a career college, Northwestern College continues to maintain connections with the business community so as to better meet the needs of the workforce. By maintaining ties with business and industry, the College is better able to ensure that the most relevant information is taught in the classroom.
Participants invited to the event at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital were the Members of the Park Ridge, Rosemont, Glenview, Niles, Morton Grove and Des Plaines Chambers of Commerce. Consequently, the event afforded Northwestern College leadership and its key allied health program faculty in attendance with the opportunity to network and collaborate with numerous area business leaders.
