Carol Wooten is the Dean of Certificate Programs at Northwestern College. She started her career at Northwestern College as a Program Director for the dental assisting program.
Before joining the team at Northwestern College, Carol worked in the healthcare/dental industry for more than 20 years. Her first endeavor in the dental world was shortly after high school when she started working as a dental assistant in North Carolina. Carol enjoyed this new endeavor and decided to make herself more marketable by taking more classes. Carol has a certification in Dental Radiology. She is also a National Board-Certified Dental Assistant.
After working in the field for many years, she decided to pursue a teaching career in dental education. She was able to bring her expertise and hands-on techniques to the classroom. Carol held several positions in academia, thus providing the perfect foundation for her current position.
Challenges have helped Carol to evolve. Additionally, Carol earned her Master of Science in Leadership in 2020 from Grand Canyon University and her bachelor’s degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University as well.
She is a mother of two and has an energetic grandson. He consumes much of her time with his extracurricular activities, and she enjoys every minute.
