Northwestern College to Host 2015 Career Fair for Students & Community
Northwestern College’s Oak Lawn and Chicago Campuses will be hosting a joint Career Fair for students and the community on Thursday, May 14 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon at its Oak Lawn Campus located at 7725 S. Harlem Avenue. Approximately twenty five (25) businesses and employers have already confirmed their attendance at these two events, with several additional employers expressing significant interest. The College finds it imperative to do everything it can to assist its students in obtaining employment.
In past years the College has hosted separate Career Fairs at each of its campuses; however, with limited space at its Chicago Campus, limiting the ability to expand and open it up to additional employers, the decision was made this year to host only one Career Fair in Oak Lawn, where there was ample space for expansion. Therefore, the College’s upcoming graduates from its Chicago Campus will be transported by bus to the Oak Lawn location for the event. The Career Fair is also open to the public.
Last year approximately 400 job seekers attended the two 2014 events held at the College’s Oak Lawn and Chicago campuses including students, alumni, and numerous members of the public.
Northwestern College has been registering businesses and employers for the past several months. To date, some of the businesses and employers that have already confirmed attendance at the 2015 Career Fair include: TCF Bank; Palos Community Hospital; RSA Medical; H & R Block; BrightStar Care of Orland Park/Will County; UPS; Homewatch Care Givers; Primerica; Waddell and Reed Financial Advisors; StaffUpMed; Massage Envy; World Financial Group/Transamerica; Cook County Health & Hospitals System; Sears Marketing Center; Trans American Medical; Securitas; Robert Half Legal; US Department of Justice DEA; IntegraCare Clinic Doctor’s Unlimited Service Corp.; US Navy; Radisson Blue Aqua Hotel Chicago; and the Job Driven Training Institute.
In addition, representatives from several higher education institutions will be available to provide information for students interested in continuing their education to obtain a 4-year degree (Northwestern College is a 2 year degree granting institution).
