Northwestern College’s Chicago Campus Conducting “Food & Supplies” Drive for Chicago Canine Rescue

The Business Inc. Club of Northwestern College’s Chicago Campus is conducting a “food and supplies” drive to benefit Chicago Canine Rescue, a non-profit local animal shelter in the community. Students, staff and faculty have been encouraged to donate bleach, paper towels, dog food and dog toys, which will be brought to the Chicago Canine Shelter at 5272 N. Elston in Chicago. Members of the public are also invited to participate in this effort, which is being overseen by Nancy Bower, the Business Inc. Club director as well as the Program Coordinator for the School of Commerce and Technology. Donation boxes for Chicago Canine Rescue have been placed in the front foyer of the College’s Main Building located at 4829 N. Lipps, as well as in the Student Services Department reception area in the same building. The drive will conclude on Wednesday, December 10.

According to the Chicago Canine Rescue’s website, additional non-perishable items which can be donated include non-latex gloves; large garbage bags; 1-gallon ziploc bags; white 8.5″ x 11″ paper; white rice; collapsible wire crates (in one piece, with NO pins); Pet Supplies Plus or K-Mart gift cards; and monetary donations with which to purchase medical supplies.

The Chicago Canine Rescue Foundation (CCR) was founded in 2001 and is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization established to provide rescue, rehabilitation and adoption services for Chicagoland’s most vulnerable and needy companion animals. CCR does not receive funding from public or government agencies and is completely dependent on individuals and businesses to fund its life-saving efforts.
