Certificate Programs

Certificate Programs

Becoming a part of the medical field doesn't have to take years and years of school. The healthcare certificate programs that we offer at Northwestern College are directly derived from degree programs and redesigned so that you can get complete, focused career education in a year or less. If you're interested in acquiring job-related skills in as short a time as possible, NC's certificate tracks might be the right choice for you. There are no general education credits required — just courses that are directly applicable to the work you want to do.

You can choose from programs like:

Medical Assisting

Prepare to become a registered medical assistant and perform the wide range of clinical and administrative skills needed to be an important member of a healthcare team.

Dental Assisting

Increase the delivery and quality of oral health care by becoming part of a dental care team at private practices; dental clinics; or federal, state, or local government health agencies.

Coding Specialist

Enhance your coding knowledge and gain skills for entry-level coding positions by learning about current classification systems and how to use them in both acute and ambulatory care settings.

If you already have previous college and/or work experience, these certificate programs can often boost your career opportunities. You can also build on many of our certificate programs, applying the credits you earn in them toward future degree programs.
